As a teacher, I get a new bunch of students every year. This means that at the start of each year I need a fresh start to Banqer.

There are a couple of different ways you can 'start again' with your new students in the new year.

  • Keeping your old classroom and simply creating a new classroom. If you're a bit nostalgic, or perhaps think you may want to have access to some of last years data for a bit longer you can always just create a new classroom:

Simply click the arrow next to your current class name and a drop down menu will appear, click on 'Create a new classroom'.

You'll then be prompted to add your new students' details. Your new class will be created once you follow a few simple steps.

  • The other option is to archive last years' classroom and create a new classroom. If out with the old and in with the new is more your style, and you'd rather not get confused by having too many classrooms on the go, why not get rid of last years class before creating a new one?

Click on 'Classroom Settings' in the sidebar.

Then click on 'archive my classroom' in the side menu that appears, you'll be taken to the bottom of the page where you click on 'unlock the danger zone' and a final 'archive my classroom' button appears. Beware, once your classroom is archived, all the data is erased and you're officially starting afresh.

Personally I don't have a need to keep last year's Banqer classrooms, so I always use the second technique. However it's totally up to you, so do whatever works. And if you're a classroom teacher that has the same students two years in a row then you've got the option of keeping the same classroom and letting your students build on their prior learnings!
